What is Nightline?
Nightline is a service ran by University of Worcester student which acts as a point of contact for anybody wishing to talk to us about any problems or just want a general chat. The service is completely confidential and anonymous, we won’t ask for your name or any details. UOW Nightline current offers a phone and email service.
UOW Nightline listening service is open from 8pm until 8am Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It doesn’t matter what you want to talk about, UOW Nightline is here to listen, either by phone or Instant Message. Whether you are depressed, worried about exams, going through some personal problem or just want a chat, our volunteers are on the end of the phone or computer screen for you and are able to hold anonymous conversations, you don’t know who you’re talking to and they don’t know who they’re talking to. This anonymity can sometimes help with being more confident about talking about your issues.
Why are Nightline volunteers anonymous?
All of the Nightline volunteers who take calls from students are anonymous. This is so as to ensure that volunteers only represent Nightline when they are on duty, and when they are off duty, they are just like every other student.
You can also use UOW Nightline to get information. If you need the number for campus security, a takeaway or taxi, UOW Nightline has all the information you need to keep you going.
Some people don’t like talk on the phone, so UOW Nightline offers an email service. Again, this service is confident and anonymous, you don’t have to tell sign the email off with your real name.
To use our email service, all you have to do is email email@example.com. You can email at any time, our trained listeners will to respond with 48 hours of the email being sent.
