Who calls Nightline?
Lots of different people. There is no such thing as a typical Nightline caller and we receive all kinds of calls about all kinds of topics. A problem can never be too big or too small for us to talk about and we’re also here for you if you just want a chat or the number of a taxi company. Nightline is for everyone who has something on their mind.
Who answers calls?
All Nightliners are student volunteers from the University of Worcester who have received extensive training in listening and communication skills through the University. Nightline is an anonymous service so the identity of our volunteers is not revealed and you will not know who you are speaking to.
What can I phone Nigthline about?
You can talk to Nightline about anything. We’re here whether you need information about anything from a taxi company or local takeaway, to personal problems or self-harm. Our listeners are here to listen to you.
Will you tell anyone about what we spoke about?
No. Nightline is a confidential service and the content of all our calls stays within the service at all times in order to make you feel more comfortable talking to us. The only exception to this rule is where the Terrorism Act 2000 applies or if there is a risk of harm to anyone underage.
If you do call for information, our listeners will have more knowledge for information related to events or companies in Worcester. But we have the facilities to take any information calls due to the service being ran by students from all areas of the United Kingdom.
What is your user policy?
Nightline listening volunteers reserve the right to terminate a call if they feel the caller is using the service in an inappropriate manner. If this behavior is repeated then they face being banned from the service.
